This scientific workshop is planned as an outreach event to explain to interested researchers, general public and media the new age that has just started in the study, and exploration of solar system minor bodies (asteroids, comets and their meteorites). New missions and space projects are aimed to the sample return and ground-based study of Near Earth Asteroids (Osiris-REx and Hayabusa 2) or even to test impact deflection techniques for Potentially Hazardous Asteroids (AIM/DART). This event born in the framework of the international Asteroid Day wants to offer space enterprises, research centers, and enthusiasts an environment for promoting common cooperation and public awareness.
Organized by the Institute of Space Sciences (CSIC-IEEC), Academia Europaea, SENER and Elecnor-Deimos.
